| 英文描述 | Within a few weeks of exposure to STREPTOCOCCUS EQUI, with or without clinical signs of strangles, Quarter Horses may develop rapid and severe atrophy involving the epaxial muscles (Valberg). Serum CK might be very high in the early stages of this condition. This might be a cell-mediated immune disorder, and affected horses respond to prolonged glucocorticoid treatment, although signs might recur following re-exposure to strangles or S. EQUI vaccination (Valberg). |
